Hello !
What is the one thing that if you could change it, you know it would improve your experience of life?
If I could wave a magic wand and make the change that you have been dreaming about
making in some area of your life, what would that change look like? How would you know the magic had happened?
How many times have you made a commitment and were determined to make the thing you mentioned above happen, but you have not yet reached that goal?
That
question is NOT meant to make you feel bad about stopping and starting multiple times on the path to achieving a goal or life change. I am as guilty of starting and stopping and starting and stopping again as anyone.
This is not a shame game. Instead, I hope that question makes you think. If you were to be completely honest with yourself, would you agree that when things
start getting rough, you let self-doubt and fear stop you? Believe me, in the past, I have allowed fear and doubt to hold me back from reaching my goals. It is very common for this to happen, but that doesn't make it any less frustrating.
Do you know that the people who reach or surpass their goals, usually have a support person or even a support team? When we try to
make changes or reach a goal all by ourselves, it is easy to fall prey to self-doubt. That doubt can side-track us for a few weeks, years, or forever. A support person or team can be the deciding factor in whether or not you succeed in whatever you are attempting to accomplish.
Depending on what your goal is, there are ways to get the support that might be unavailable from
your family and friends. If you are trying to lose weight, improve a relationship, stop drinking or smoking, exercise more, find a better job, change careers, be a better parent, etc. There are free or low-cost support groups for almost anything you want to change in your life. Outside of that, there are tons of YouTube, TikTok and Instagram videos to keep you motivated. Coaches and/or Therapists can be instrumental in helping you to move past your fears and doubts to achieve
the results you dream of. Having a support person can feel like magic!
The truth is, I don't have a magic wand, but what I do have is the ability to listen with no attachment. This enables me to get insights and provide practical support that can help my clients to make the positive changes they want to make in their lives with less starting and stopping.
